What do you need to do to switch them for your bank? Like for our checks to get directly deposited into an account with them? My husband is deployed, and I'm ready to switch, I just want to know what I need and what I have to do. Thanks, I appreciate it. I feel like an idiot, but the bank I am now with, I've been with since my very first savings account.

I would suggest keeping your old bank account open for a while to ensure DFAS have made the changes and your check is going into the new bank account.

oh yeah you can do it yourself if you know what you're doing , i dont mess with all that LOL , :) 

Just to be on the safe side 

Were swithing to USAA too. Our bank keeps screwing up. You can do everything online, Syl. Keep your old account open an extra month to make sure DFAS switches everything over accurately. Don't forget to change the banking info on his travel pay and other misc pays not just reg pay. It's pretty simple through mypay
