my husband got yelled at because his uniform was a little faded and told him to tell me i either need to wash it right or get it done professionally. my husband had 50 plus uniforms most of them he wore while he was deployed so yes they got major faded because they needed to be washed almost every other day because HELLO he was in a sandbox for 12 months. the other uniforms he didnt use maybe 5 of them are put away and he saves them for funeral services like the one he just went to on saturday. he told me not to say anything just to keep my cool but i am so pissed..who the hell does this a$$hole think he is? i know how to wash clothes been doing it since i was 10 yrs old and never have i ruined anything. i swear i hope he gets kicked in the face by a rabid donkey

ChelleB --- 16 years ago -

well... i'd have to say that i'd be mad too... AND not to mention uniforms aren't cheap! LOL. BUT on the other hand, they are supposed to carry themselves to a certain standard and uniforms happen to be a big deal... had it been the army 10 years ago, he probably would've been told to go buy a new one and not show back up until he does, and then smoked on top of that.... its okay girl...

Bad Mood Betty --- 16 years ago -

ummmm stuff fades over time lol he needs to get over it.... how about my friend just signed in and the guy doing staff duty he wasnt shaved and his uniform was jacked up .... how about that ? and the e5 doing duty with him didnt even say anything ..... see if that were my husband no matter what ranks if he sees something he says something about it ....

JustMandy --- 16 years ago -

I WOULDNT SAY ANYTHING.. IT IS HIS BOSS.. YOU DONT WANT TO GET HI INTO TROUBLE..

ALBL0328 --- 16 years ago -

I WOULDNT SAY ANYTHING.. IT IS HIS BOSS.. YOU DONT WANT TO GET HI INTO TROUBLE.. Thats how I feel about all that, too. I feel like whenever i say anything, even if it's just that I need help with something, I feel like my husband catches sh1t for it. After most recent experiences, I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut from now on!

♥TheDivineMissEm♥ --- 16 years ago -

Some Squad Leaders & Platoon Sgts are complete a-holes.

In need of DICK --- 16 years ago -

uniforms arent cheap new...just go to some of the army stores and buy some newer ones if needed. i almost kicked the shyt out of my fiance when he bought brand new ones cuz he has no a$$ so the crotch always rips grrr i think im going to get him a$$ implants seriously i need a man with a good a$$ to smack : )

SugarGuru --- 16 years ago -

first off....why did your husband even tell you, he obviously knew that would set you off and possibly hurt your feelings...secondly i hope you never encounter his SGT in public without uniform...my husband's supervisor (Navy at the time) came to our house and said some smart shyt to him (they were in uniform...it was for housing check-out) and my husband just had to say, "yes Jiminez" well then he came out and said some smart shyt to me...that was when i pointed out...i am not one of his sailors...and i'm a civilian, to which i stood up and towered over this 5'4" tall man (i'm over 6'00" tall) and cursed him out....well the next day for the final inspection for clearing housing...he came and brought my husband and myself breakfast... moral of the story..sometimes a good curse out is warranted...but revenge is best served cold...so wait it out a little...he'll get his somehow

hooah --- 16 years ago -

well if the uniform is not serviceable then he should buy a new uniform or 2. The uniform have about a 6 month life span and thats why soldiers get clothing allowance on there anniversary date that money is for clothing not beer ir blowing it on junk. It is the army and appearance is alot.

ALBL0328 --- 16 years ago -

See, I wish I was one to speak up better like that, but I'm just a passive person and tend to just get upset and be intimidated. Although after dealing with my inlaws, I'm not hesitent about giving them a piece of my mind when the moment comes now....different story, but just made me think of that.

SugarGuru --- 16 years ago -

well if the uniform is not serviceable then he should buy a new uniform or 2. instead of buying new, if you haven't gotten your allowance, thrift stores rock!!!

SugarGuru --- 16 years ago -

See, I wish I was one to speak up better like that, but I'm just a passive person and tend to just get upset and be intimidated. ya i was like that until i lived in Queens, NY...not anymore...it's great to be passive until a certain point...i'll be damned if someone talks to me like i'm a piece of garbage, or refer to me through my husband...my husband would've said something to his SGT for bringing me up into the conversation...to the extent of "these are my uniforms, not my wife's, and i would like you to keep her name out your mouth."

ALBL0328 --- 16 years ago -

It is the army and appearance is alot. And good point. My husband keeps uniforms in stash in our closet and tries to use his clothing allowance on boots and all the other gear he needs though. He's been lucky he hasn't run into the problems with his uniforms yet, but I know it will come around soon enough. He's got about 2 sets left in his stash and got new boots not too long ago.

Sandy C --- 16 years ago -

Does the Army not get an annual uniform allowance? It should be paid on there PEBD (Pay Entry Base Date) and paid every year on there anniversary. When I retired it was over $1000.00 per year for my pay-grade.

ALBL0328 --- 16 years ago -

i'll be damned if someone talks to me like i'm a piece of garbage, or refer to me through my husband Some guys my husband works with thinks I rely waaay too much on him and that may be true, but being married to him is the first ever experience with the military I've had and even though it's been almost 4 years, it's still a bit intimidating to me. I've just run into a lot of situations were I need this piece of paper or I need help with the kids to go do something important and I don't know anyone else to help me!

hooah --- 16 years ago -

i got about 10 new uniforms on my last deployment any one wanna buy some lol medium regular

hooah --- 16 years ago -

yeah they get allowance on pebd about 500 buck or more

SabrinaS09 --- 16 years ago -

why did your husband even tell you, he obviously knew that would set you off and possibly hurt your feelings he told me because i asked him wtf was wrong with him and why did he look upset he doesnt hide things from me and doesnt say things to me to set me off on purpose..its called we are honest no matter what

SabrinaS09 --- 16 years ago -

my husband gets his so called allowance this month i believe

hooah --- 16 years ago -

well the army is not a normal job you gave up all your rights once you joined so he has to take every thing with a grain of salt or its goign to be hard

ALBL0328 --- 16 years ago -

its called we are honest no matter what We live our marriage by this! He tells me things even though he knows I will probably get upset, but it would hurt my feelings more if he kept things from me. But that's how we roll, I get that some people would rather just not hear it....whatever floats your boat :)

hooah --- 16 years ago -

if soldiers know the standard and will not even try to wear a messed up uniform

Cheryl --- 16 years ago -

i got about 10 new uniforms on my last deployment any one wanna buy some lol medium regular are they still new or almost new? if so, how much? I might be interested cause we are about to PCS to SC and hubby would like some newer ACUS.

SugarGuru --- 16 years ago -

Some guys my husband works with thinks I rely waaay too much on him and that may be true, but being married to him is the first ever experience with the military ahh, well i was raised around the military and i am a disable vet myself...all prior to husband...so maybe that's where i get it from lol.. Does the Army not get an annual uniform allowance? yup just like the Navy does, Chief

It is the army and appearance is alot. The uniforms have a 6 month life span, but they get a clothing allowance once a year. Think about that. My husband hasnt had his clothing allowance hit since hes been back either. That comes on the anniversary of when you joined the Army

.:April:. --- 16 years ago -

Just be lucky you get the uniform allowance! Officers don't. Your husband has to wear this uniform 5-6 days a week.. why not spend some money on it.. its just like if you went to work and needed "formal" clothes and had to go buy some. My husband has no problem telling his soldier to get new uniforms. Are you drying them in a dryer? that might help with the fading issue, because they're not supposed to be.

SabrinaS09 --- 16 years ago -

i never said i had the problem spending money on them i'm not poor or broke lol and no i dont dry them in the dryer the ones i washed have always been hung up to dry

brookee --- 16 years ago -

Are you drying them in a dryer? that might help with the fading issue, because they're not supposed to be. I dry my husbands ACUs in the dryer and they come out fine. We only have to replace his once a year. The boots are another thing, we replace them like every three months.

Supervillain --- 16 years ago -

Be thankful for them ACS. When I was in we had the BDUs and ironing them was required. Most guys would take them to the cleaners to get starched, too. That would make them fade quick and you pretty much had to use your clothing allowance for what it was intended for. Hell, even I was luckier than my dad. On any given week, there were three entirely different types of uniforms he was required to wear. It drove my mother nuts because she had to maintain them.

*CU Drama Queen* --- 16 years ago -

Please dont make me remember the BDU's anymore lol
