Sarah does NOT have Cystic Fibrosis!!! Yea for her!! We have her baby brother today. We get to keep him overnight.

Georgia Girl (Mod) --- 15 years ago -

that is awesome!!!! yeah for Sarah!!!

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

I am so glad the tech felt bad enough to call me herself. Waiting a week for results would have sucked.

MiggityGiggity --- 15 years ago -

I don't know who Sarah is but I'm very happy for you guys! You must have been terrified.

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

oh yeah....Don won $100 at Bingo last night.

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

I was. When her regular doc suggested it I got nervous. Then he sent her to a specialist & she recommended the test as well. That scared me to death. It's like this huge dark cloud is lifted & I can breathe freely again.

MiggityGiggity --- 15 years ago -

I'm sorry you had to go through that but thankfully it turned out OK. I can't believe they wanted you to wait a week for results. I could imagine being bald by then lol

Georgia Girl (Mod) --- 15 years ago -

Rhonda.. great day for you all around! Finding out daughter doesnt have CF AND winning a 100.00!! Yoohooo for you!!!!

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

The tech was really nice. She thought it was ridiculous too.

Georgia Girl (Mod) --- 15 years ago -

I am soooo very happy for you!!! You are right though.. you shouldn't have had to wait for the results.. when did they call you?

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

when did they call you? LOL I can't remember. I called all the family that knew about the testing though. I have no way to reach her parents...they didn't even know she was having it done. She still has more testing to go but that was the worse one.

That's awesome, Rhonda! How's she doing now? (If you already gave this info recently, I probably didn't read it, I haven't been keeping up with this site like I used to.)

Georgia Girl (Mod) --- 15 years ago -

I will keep her in my prayers that everything is fine.. atleast her doctors are listening to you! No one wanted to listen to me when my son started having problems.. which started when he was 8 with his heart. No one looked into why it had to work so hard or why it was enlarged.

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

She's doing pretty good. Her Speech Therapist is wonderful. Sarah has used a couple of sentences. Help Me. I want _____.

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

Half of my post is gone. Wonder what happened. I was saying: "I want ____" (random words like eat or bath) She has to get tubes in her ears & a swallowing study still. She starts her Special Ed preschool on her birthday.

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

That's messed up that the doctors didn't listen to you. I have good doctors that really talk to me.

Georgia Girl (Mod) --- 15 years ago -

I think they just thought I was being over protective or something..they looked at me funny when I was asked about family medical history and not knowing the answers about it because i was adopted So there was no foundation to look at in the first place. Who would have known that a white kid would have a rare disease that normally presents itself in asian females or decent! LOL

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

That is true. It's hard for adoptees to get accurate medical records. Over protective Moms often have something to be over protective about.

Georgia Girl (Mod) --- 15 years ago -

Had the same thing happen when he was having mini strokes or TIAs. He kept acting drunk and couldn't talk or walk right.. get to the hospital and oh.. just a sinus infection and polyps. 4 times we went before he had his stroke! Aughhhhh. but so happy for you and little Sarah!!! What is the next round of tests?

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

On the 14th she has her Swallowing Study. It'll check to see what she does with everything(mouth, cheek, teeth, tongue) when she eats & drinks. I think it also checks that her digestive tract is functioning correctly.

*Rhonda* --- 15 years ago -

She goes back on the 9th for a routine 6 month check-up with the specialist.
