I just randomly looked into school registration dates tonight, and am glad I did. I'm unfamiliar with the process for Tennessee. Back home registration for kids not already in the school system doesn't begin until July/August. Hazelwood Elementary has their "kindergarten round up" May 1st and its states that registration packets will be distributed. The CMCSS website states that for registration a physical must already be performed. Does anyone know if they're going to be doing registration that night or if its just a packet so you can get everything ready? I don't have a physical and can't get one before then. Just not sure exactly how the TN process works. I'll call when I get a chance/remember. I'm just wondering if anyone already knows
Jess... I had to have a physical done before registration. If you can't get one at your child's normal doctor, you can pay 20.00 at an urgent care clinic for a school health certificate. I did that with my stepdaughter when we first had custody of her to put her in school because we couldn't get an appt for a month.
i know this dude on the east side of town that will do a physical for 20 dollars and a cheeseburger from the trunk of his town car. hes real fancy too. i got a tetnus shot from him a week ago and well i aint got no infection no more.
I know on the Ky side they do early registration at the end of the previous year, but they also do it near the start of the new school year too. As for physicals, they will always work with you as long as you have an appt date scheduled.
We just had kindergarten round up. We got the packet. You can bring the paperwork in with the physical now until the school ends. Or a few weeks before school starts. You have plenty of time to schedule the physical. :)
