special needs parents took your babies to the Blake Shelton concert last night? Nothing says smart parenting like laying your kid down on a blanket in the night when everyone is cramped together so you can barely see where you're walking. Not to mention, a lot of these people were drunks running for the potty or the beer tent. One family did bring their pack n play :/. Oh, and high five to the family up front who kept tossing their baby like they would get picked out of the crowd for it

Kelli --- 13 years ago -

thats why i decided not to go...didnt want my kids around all the idiots that normally run to post when something free is going on.

JMunderscore --- 13 years ago -

Everyone was under control and I was one of those drunks lol. I just don't think its a place for small children. Not to mention, almost every parent that brought kids were drunk themselves. Its too dark and crowded to have children safely there. I mean seriously, lay your kid down on the ground to sleep in the dark? If thats not a safety issue I don't know what is

brookee --- 13 years ago -

We didn't take Landon but our friend who went with us took her 1 year old. None of us were drinking & he was either in his wagon or being held. Hm?

JMunderscore --- 13 years ago -

High five for not losing track of the kid

Major Tom (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

People actually went to see that??? I can't wait for the Skynyrd/Doobie Brothers show at Ft Knox next month.

Pureawesoness --- 13 years ago -

I wanted to go too, but being responsible kinda got in the way, i dont understand why you'd take your kid there, it doesnt have to be your fault but harm could come way too easely to a child while in a concert

muffcabbage --- 13 years ago -

its no different then going to the renisance festival with your kids. call me irresponsible all you want. Hell where im from its perfectly acceptable to take your kids to the beer joints with you. people are freakin uptight here. thats why i cant wait to get the heck outta this armpit for good.

brookee --- 13 years ago -

I don't really understand what the big deal is as long as you're watching your kid. The little brat could get hurt anywhere, why would a concert be any different? You wouldn't not go grocery shopping because something might happen would you?

Pureawesoness --- 13 years ago -

People dont get drunk while shopping, people can actually see where they are walking while shopping. A kid beeing kept from going to sleep in a bed just bc the parent decided he/she/they wanted to have fun ? i mean everyone has their opinions mine is that its irresponsible and selfish, an older kid...ok not as bad, a small child? yeah in my opinion very selfish and irresponsible

SyllyCoops --- 13 years ago -

To each their own, I remember good times going with my mom and other kids, with their parents. Now it's frowned upon, but back then, kids would play, parents would drink, everyone was happy and life was simple! *sigh* I hate how society has become, political correctness can suck my brown eye!

brookee --- 13 years ago -

The kid [my friend took] doesn't even go to bed until 9:30 and she left the concert at 9:15 to get him home in time. Just saying.

You never know the full story. People always assume.

And you never know what people are doing. You wouldn't think a truck driver, who is ON the job, would be drinking but how many times have we heard about people getting run over (the Amish most recently) because another truck driver was driving drunk.

JMunderscore --- 13 years ago -

I assume every one around here is a drunk driver. Its the only explanation I can come up with for all the wrecks and horrible driving

Pureawesoness --- 13 years ago -

Im not going to argue with you, its my opinion.

Free concert on a military post....DRUNK people, drunk people + bigger danger, fights, broken glasses/bottles/ people not beeing coordinated its all a higher change of a child getting hurt, your opinion is yours to share and mine is mine to share, i think its irresponsible, stupid and selfish. Its loud and a child will get cranky, priorities. Might as well dont get upset if someone takes a child to the bar, as long as they get back in time, should be the same thing right ?

brookee --- 13 years ago -

It's not the same. A bar is where you go to drink, a concert is where you go to listen to music. IF people drink that is their decision. I'm not going to base MY life on what other people may or may not do.

Pureawesoness --- 13 years ago -

Not your life, your kids. Its a night time concert, more than obvious ppl are going to drink. Like i said its cool you have your opinion and im sure we both think we're right.

Me,Myself, and I --- 13 years ago -

We went and didnt take our kids. There was going to be hot and alot of rowdy people there. Almost everyone around us was drinking. The people in front of us brought a gallon of jack and drank the whole thing. Plus it was way too hot for my kids to be outside sitting for something they will never remember.
Plus everyone had more fun. Kids at my mom's house having a ball. My husband and I enjoying ourselves without having to freak out about watching the kids with a bunch of drunk people.

SyllyCoops --- 13 years ago -

See, my kids have been around me when I've been drinking, like say, at home. That's my choice. I wouldn't take my kids to a concert in the first place, not because of the rowdy, rude buttholes, but because the music itself could really hurt their hearing. There's drunk folk at carnivals for Christsakes, if there's a beer tent. There's rudeazzes at Walmart over there too! Everyone parents differently. I worry about my kids hearing, Alex, he was five weeks old, one of my bridesmaids was an Audiologist and I had her put earplugs in his little ears so his hearing wasn't bothered by our wedding music. That was a rambling...but, my house is clean, so what else do I have to do? I could go unpack the boxes upstairs, but what fun is that?

SyllyCoops --- 13 years ago -

And the earplugs were made of wax, not the rubber-shove it in your ear ones. Just for the record.

muffcabbage --- 13 years ago -

and i also want the 4400 back, more episodes of weeds and my stripper pole bolted to the ceiling. i got a hot pink one,. i found out today what happens when you try to dance on it and its not bolted and youre fat..

SyllyCoops --- 13 years ago -

You should've recorded it. I'd bet you'd be on Tosh! And, I think that would happen with whomever, fat or not, if it's not bolted in. Momentum is a funny thing.

SyllyCoops --- 13 years ago -

Oh, I forgot to mention, I want a pink one! :P

Darlene (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

Each person parents differently. I can say I would never take my children to anything like this.

muffcabbage --- 13 years ago -

there are far worse places to take your kids to. crack houses, weed houses, meth houses. a simple concert is safe and public. there are far worse places that one could take their kids to.not like there are any hardcore gangsters in this dump anyways.
